Getting inspired by Google Adsense Payouts

Posted on 27 Jan 2010 at 5:31pm

This is not the first time nor the last time Google will send me money using Adsense. Has time goes by, blogging is not an easy joke anymore. Getting this not so huge amount, is making myself more inspired on blogging and making money online.

Should I concentrate more on my own blog http://www.opawtech.com/ or i should get those MFA blogs (made for adsense).

Get paid to blog, tweet for politicians this year

Posted on 06 Jan 2010 at 10:19am

MANILA, Philippines – Politicians are now on the lookout for bloggers, writers, designers, and even professional “tweeters” to help them in their respective campaigns, which officially start next month.

Jayjay Viray, country manager of online job search engine JobsDB, said electoral candidates now prefer hiring employees instead of recruiting volunteers. Although these will cost them more, he said politicians find hired workers more efficient and reliable.

To make the most of the election fever, Viray said jobseekers can make the most of the following employment opportunities:

* bloggers or writers for press releases about electoral candidates, since most politicians now have their own websites
* managers of Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking accounts of electoral candidates
* generators of campaign infocasts through text messages
* event organizers
* designers of tarpaulins and other campaign visuals
* image stylists for electoral candidates

Viray warned that campaign-related jobs are only temporary since these will no longer be needed once the election season is over. Still, he said jobseekers can look for opportunities in the business process outsourcing, health, and information technology sectors.

Last year, University of the Philippines economics professor Benjamin Diokno warned that Filipinos will have a hard time looking for more permanent jobs in 2010, saying that businessmen will opt to be in a wait-and-see mode until the results of the national elections come out.

Given this, economists urged the next administration to carefully map out its strategies to ensure a sustained recovery for the Philippines in the years to come. Report from Zen Hernandez, ABS-CBN News

Canon Selphy CP760 Compact Photo Printer

Posted on 01 Jan 2010 at 11:45am

So you know I did a full coverage of SITEX 08 since day 1, shared deals and brochures, etc. But did I buy anything? Yap and it’s shown in the following picture.

The Canon Selphy CP 760 Compact Photo Printer

I have been eyeing a compact photo printer for years, literally. The reason I never actually bought one was that a normal inkjet printer cost less, are more versatile and could also print photos on 4R prints (or so I convinced myself). But are the photo prints from inkjet similar to those printed by a compact photo printer?

Answer is NO …. It’s way off the mark although it looks similar at the beginning (I’m comparing a Canon Inkjet to a Canon CPP). Let’s look at some advantages of using a Compact Photo Printer (CPP) like The Canon Selphy.

Ink Prints Don’t Last

Although Inkjets prints just as beautiful a photo but the inks don’t last. I previously had a couple of 4R prints from my inkjet together with a Selphy printed 4R from a carnival I attended. All my inkjet prints have since faded but the one from Selphy is as good as new.

The differences probably lies in the technological differences (inks vs dye-sublimation) – you can google the differences but I’m not going into the technicalities for now. Let’s just leave it as the dye-sub prints are on-par with photo-lab prints.

Inks Dry Up

I don’t use my printer often for photo prints even when I shoot a lot. But there are times when I just want a few nice photos on print to share or give away or just for sweet memory.

But alas … my printer ink has dried up on me … replacing them would cost me anywhere between SGD 30 and SGD 90 depending on your make and number of cartridges. Plus pray that the print head has not been clogged. All just to print a couple of 4R photos.

One 36 Print Cartridge Comes With 2 Packs Of 16 Pieces Of 4R Prints

CPP’s uses cartridges that does not dry up (or so I was told … only time will verify this). A pack of cartridge cost SGD 10.80 and comes with 36 4R photo paper – just enough for 36 4R print. When you run out of paper, you run out of “ink”.

Fuss Free Maintenance

As mentioned above, the cartridge comes with papers. So I do not need to track my supplies and I always have quality Canon papers to use.

Push The Red Tab And Out Pops The Cartridge

Changing the cartridge is as simple as popping out the old one and slotting in the new one. Ditto to filling up the 4R papers. All done in under 30 seconds.

Dummy Proof Printing

Printing Via SD Card – Even My IT Illiterate Mom Can Do It

Sometimes getting the right print from your printer can be a chore. From transferring, editing, selecting, color correcting to the actual printing. What I like about using the Selphy is that I get the right print almost all the time, straight from my D90 DSLR or via the SD Card.

Unboxing My Selphy

The Core Purchase – Canon Selphy CP760 – Cost Me SGD 179 At Sitex

Freebies Include A Selphy Bag, 36 Card Size Print, A USB Bluetooth Dongle For BT Prints. I Bought Another Pack of 108 4R Prints For SGD 32.90.

All The Necessary Stuffs Are There Except A USB Cable. Seems Like Canon Don’t Expect Us To Connect It To A Computer

My Selphy CP 760 Ready To Print. Oh, Do Note That You Need Ample Space Behind The Printer As The 4R Paper Slides In And Out During Printing.
